Summer in Pyhäntä
Summer is a great time in Finland. The temperature is warm, the weather is sunny more often, and the days are long. It’s prime time for a vacation, which is why it’s good that children get their longest break from school during the summer. In summer you can do so much, and as a child it’s easy to come up with things to do. Pyhäntä is a peaceful place for children with not a lot of traffic and a lot of outdoor places to play in. There are a lot of public places and activities for having fun.
In Pyhäntä, there are a few playgrounds for children to play in. The one located at the school is also near the sports field, and there is a football field on the playground. The playground behind the library has picnic tables, chairs, and the other side has exercise equipment in case parents want to work out while kids play. The traffic park is located next to this playground as well. The traffic park is where children can borrow pedal cars and drive around. You can also bring your own bike or car. Remember to keep an eye on your children, and remind them to be careful when playing.
There are multiple public beaches in Pyhäntä. Most beaches have changing booths and a WC. They also have a spot for making fires, so you can cook sausages and different snacks. A lot of the beaches are shallow and suitable for families with children. Swimming is the best way to cool down on hot days.
If you want something more to do on the beach, you could rent equipment like stand-up paddle boards, a canoe, or different games. The games are good for playing around outside, and the SUP boards and canoes are great for water sports. SUP boarding is fun for everyone and the canoe is fun together. More information can be found in the Pyhäntä instagram and facebook.
Another great way to cool down is ice cream. Ice cream is by far one of the best things in summer. It’s cool and sweet, absolutely perfect for summer. Pyhäntä fortunately has two ice cream kiosks. They are known for having large scoops and lots of flavours. The kiosks also sell a variety of other things like candy, paninis, drinks and coffee.
There is a lot to do in Pyhäntä in the summer. There are different events all during the summer. You can find out more in Instagram, Facebook, the Pyhäntä website, and the event calendars. There are some competitions, frisbeegolf, shows, music performances, events, and a lot more. Enjoy the summer!
